The Christian Heritage Concert and Thanksgiving Service – 20th November

Each year the “CCMFestival” closes with a tribute to the Christian Heritage which has been left by centuries of Christian witness in the UK. Throughout history there have been key periods when Christian values have been restored. As a result we now have a rich heritage of Christian churches as diverse as Roman Catholic, Anglican, Methodists, Salvation Army, Congregational, Baptist, Independent Evangelical, Pentecostal and Charismatic Traditions.

During the 1960-1980 these traditions came together to provide support for the UK Billy Graham Crusades and as result filled many of our football grounds, theatres and public venues with crowds of people many of whom had previously had little or no interest in church. Consequently many churches saw long-term increases in their congregations and renewed interest in engaging with local communities.

This year our Christian Heritage Concert will pay tribute to the Billy Graham Crusades with the Thanksgiving Service taking on the format of a crusade event including Dr Graham preaching on the giant Spa Theatre Cinema Screen. Music from the era will form part of the evening as congregation and soloists remind us of where many of the songs and hymns now found in our hymnbooks first became well-known to British audiences.

The Heritage Concert will be in the Bridlington Spa theatre 6:30pm Sunday 20th November. There will be no charge for entry and no reserved seats. Simply come along and bring a friend.
