The “Big Society” Concert – 19th November

Much has been said about the “Big Society” since the concept was launched by the Prime Minister. The CCMfestival has taken up the challenge to demonstrate how much voluntary work goes on within our East Coast region by charities, community groups and church groups etc. The range of activities includes providing support and development for children and young people, sports clubs, amateur dramatics, activities for the elderly, support for the venerable, places to meet for the lonely and those living alone and life-saving and rescue services all of which enrich the lives of those living in the towns and villages of the East Coast.

Our aim is to have as many as possible of these organisations represented in a “Big Society” concert in Bridlington Spa Theatre on Saturday evening 19th of November. We are encouraged by the support we have been given especially from the Rt. Hon. Greg Clark Minister for Decentralisation, Department of Communities and Local Government. (See below).

The concert will take place in the Bridlington Spa Theatre on Saturday evening 19th November. Top of the bill is the Rothwell Championship Brass Band, one of the leading brass bands in the UK.

They will be supported by the University of York Zamar Gospel Choir.

Truly an outstanding evening not to be missed.

How can my charity/community organisation get involved?

To encourage charities/community groups to take part in this special evening £1.00 out of every ticket sold will be given away to a charity or community group on the evening of the concert. To have a chance to receive this cash prize for your organisation we are asking charities/community groups to register with us and to sell at least 10 tickets (£10.00 each). The more tickets you sell the greater will be your chance of receiving what could be a substantial sum for your organisation.

We are grateful to Bridlington Lions for their practical support for this concert.

For further information as to how your organisation/group can get involved in this evening of celebration please contact:

The Festival Director 01262 404100 or e-mail paul-lowe@ccmf.co.uk  or complete the registration form and return to the Festival Director.
