East Coast Churches and Community Music Festival

(CCMF 2011)

The Churches and Community Music Festival (CCMFestival) was founded in 2009. The aim was to  bring together the resources available in local church organisations  of all denominations with those found in the local communities throughout the East Coast of Yorkshire, for the benefit of the East Coast Communities.  Music was chosen as the main vehicle to achieve this objective. Bridlington Quay Christ Church PCC agreed to take the lead role, as well as underwriting the project and providing administration services, and together the Bridlington Churches-Together and the Deanery of Bridlington, the CCMF project was launched.

 

Today the CCMFestival enjoys the support of The East Riding Schools’ Music Service, The City of Hull Music Service, Hull Philharmonic Orchestra, Scarborough Symphony Orchestra, Opera North, Bridlington Regeneration Forum, Bridlington Town Council, Bridlington U3A, East Coast Business Organisations, Yorkshire Coast Festival Association and East Coast Community Groups.

 

We aim to:

·         Promote the rich East Coast Heritage within the Local            Community

·         Provide a dimension for lifestyle improvement and personal            development

·         Increase opportunities for and develop the talents of young            people

·         Encourage community participation

·         Strengthen cultural links; past, present and future 

·         Give the East Coast community an event to be proud of and            own

·         Promote tourism and the local economy.
